Somi

Somi's last album "Zenzile: The reimagination of Miriam Makeba" was a grandiose and very personal homage to the greatest female musician on the African continent, who rightly gained fame as a great fighter for human rights. Somi also wrote a musical linked to the album about the same story herself. With her velvety, emotive voice, Somi tells stories about love, identity and self-determination. Her music reflects her pan-African heritage and her global experiences. Awarded and excellent.
